Based in Santiago, Juan Pablo Solar is a member of Spencer Stuart’s global Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Consumer and Healthcare practices. He brings an extensive background in executive search, specializing in senior executive and chief information officer (CIO) roles in the digital and consumer Internet spaces. He also focuses on searches for a range of functional roles for major Latin American retailers.
Range of digital and retail experience
- Juan Pablo focuses on CIO and senior IT executive searches for companies where high-quality technology and information systems are integral to the business, such as telecommunications, retail and banking. He also works with regional and local retail clients on their critical functional leadership needs, including operations, human resources, supply chain, marketing and commercial.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Juan Pablo worked as an entrepreneur, where he founded a consultancy business providing human resources services to small and medium-sized enterprises. He also served as an industrial engineer for some of Chile’s leading engineering consultancy companies.
- Juan Pablo is currently an associate professor in the engineering school at Universidad Católica de Chile, where he leads a training course for the program’s innovation and entrepreneurship minor.
Juan Pablo has a degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from Brighton University in the UK. He is also a certified ontological coach, a distinction he received from the Newfield Network. A native Spanish speaker, he is also fluent in English.
