Filomena Leonardi advises CEOs, boards, and senior HR leaders on leadership development areas including executive assessment, transition support, and coaching of key talent. Filomena has led numerous assignments for succession planning, strategic capabilities review, post-M&A integration, and critical talent acquisition decisions. In addition, Filomena has more than 15 years of experience in executive search globally. She brings extensive experience in synthesizing key considerations from business strategy and governance with leadership priorities.
Global consulting expertise
- Filomena brings to her client work a global perspective and significant insight into the cultural dimensions that affect the selection and appointment of senior-level executives. She has lived in five countries on four continents and consulted on leadership and management issues for organizations across Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Filomena was a partner at the Sydney and then New York office of another global firm, and previously led its Asia Pacific executive assessment initiatives. She conducted senior-level executive searches and executive assessment projects for clients in the healthcare, technology and professional services sectors.
- Prior to joining the search industry, Filomena had a significant career in management consulting in the U.S., Europe and Australia — focusing on team facilitation, organizational design and change management programs. At IBM, she led the commercialization and rollout of innovative information management tools in the U.S. and Europe, and associated change management programs. After completing her M.B.A., Filomena joined Bain & Company.
Filomena received a B.S. in industrial chemistry from the University of New South Wales. She holds an M.B.A. from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales with a concentration in organizational behavior, where she also served as an adjunct faculty member in the field of organizational behavior and change management. Filomena is a credentialed coach, with PCC training from New Ventures West.
