Julie Perkins is an attorney and a core member of Spencer Stuart’s Legal, Compliance & Government Affairs Practice. She leads executive legal and compliance searches across all industries, in addition to leadership development, assessment and succession planning.
Julie also co-leads Spencer Stuart’s engagements with law firms, addressing upgrades to internal talent, external leadership recruitment, cultural assessment and more.
She is driven by the notion of building long-lasting relationships between clients and candidates. She cares deeply about ensuring the executive leaders she places create an inclusive environment for diverse talent and lead with an eye toward succession planning.
Expertise in legal executive search and law firm executive search and assessment
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart in 2014, Julie was a litigation associate at an AmLaw 100 firm in Philadelphia. She was licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- At Spencer Stuart, Julie has conducted and successfully placed general counsel, deputy general counsel and chief compliance officers at a range of organizations, spanning Fortune 500 companies to small/mid-cap and private equity backed organizations across industries including technology, industrial, financial services, healthcare and broader consumer.
- Julie also brings expertise in conducting executive searches at law firms, including AmLaw 100 and Global 100 firms, as well as providing succession planning and leadership development assessment in law firms and professional services organizations.
- Julie currently serves as the associate practice leader for the Legal, Compliance & Government Affairs Practice, overseeing the associate, analyst and practice needs in partnership with the global practice leaders. She is also a founding member of the Philadelphia Office’s DE&I Squad.
Julie earned her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School with honors and her B.A. in communication with a minor in art history from George Washington University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She lives outside of Philadelphia with her husband and her two daughters.
